Ronnie Yoon Kok Seng is the Founder, Managing Partner and Head of the Litigation Department in Messrs. Scully.Yoon. Ronnie has throughout his career practised mainly in the area of civil litigation and currently is specializing in civil litigation, conveyancing and corporate work in Kuala Lumpur.

Prior to this, Ronnie has worked and held different positions in a number of law firms throughout Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Johor Bahru, gaining wide exposure and considerable invaluable experience in the practice of law covering primarily banking, corporate, conveyancing and civil litigation matters. Ronnie has to date appeared and conducted many highly litigious and contentious matters for and on behalf of numerous individual and corporate clients in the Magistrates' Court, Sessions Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court.

Ronnie has in the course of his career in the legal profession, acquired extensive experience in diverse legal matters across a broad spectrum of the law such as contracts disputes resolution, defamation, medical negligence, personal injury matters, contentious probate matters, committal proceedings, bankruptcy, winding-up of companies and insolvency matters, family law matters, contested and non-contested divorce proceedings, intellectual property disputes, banking litigation, corporate litigation, civil litigation, Applications for Injunctions, mandatory or prohibitory, and other injunctive reliefs such as Mareva Injunction and Anton Piller Order, banking facilities documentations, loan and security documentations, sale and purchase agreements, leases and tenancies, transfers, assignments, various commercial contracts pertaining to the sale and purchase of businesses or shares, trust deeds, Shareholders Agreements, probate and administration of estates and the drafting and preparation of Wills, power of attorney and a wide range of business contracts and commercial agreements including but not limited to Joint Venture agreements, partnership agreements and building contracts.

Jini Wong Mi-Li came on board Messrs Scully.Yoon in September 2006 as an advocate & solicitor in the Corporate and Conveyancing Department. In June 2007, Jini was elevated and appointed as a partner of the firm as a result of the consistently excellent performance in her overall work.

Jini is presently the Head of Corporate & Conveyancing Department in Messrs Scully.Yoon with a focus on further developing and expanding the Department under her care to deliver consistently high quality legal services to clients on a daily basis.

Having been in practice since 1997 and formerly once a sole-proprietor of her own legal firm for a number of years, Jini has been exposed to and has experienced and practised many different aspects of corporate and conveyancing laws.

Jini's vast experience in legal practice includes the drafting, preparation of and attending to sale and purchase agreements for various developers' projects and also for individual and corporate clients in sub-sale transactions, preparing security documentations and loan documentations for banks and financial institutions, drafting of Wills, preparation of documentation for appeal matters in the Court of Appeal, bankruptcy proceedings, contentious and non-contentious divorce proceedings and other family law related matters, debt recovery, application for probate as well as letters of administration of estates.

Jini also has significant experience in drafting a variety of legal contracts and corporate agreements including but not limited to Shareholders Agreement, Exclusive Distribution Agreement, Employment Contracts, Franchise Agreements and various other commercial contracts and business agreements.

Shirley Lim Lian Huay

Shirley Lim Lian Huay started her career as a Legal Officer in Malaysian Central Depository Sdn Bhd (now known as Bursa Depository Sdn Bhd). Eventually, she held managerial positions with its holding company, the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as Bursa Malaysia Berhad). During her tenure, she assisted and also handled a variety of legal matters including : Drafting of corporate agreements; Interpreting the Securities Industry (Central Depositories) Act 1991; Rendering legal advice on the securities laws, corporate laws and matters relating to the Malaysian Companies Act 1965; Oversaw all legal compliance matters with regard to the Stock Exchange; Supervised all investigations conducted on breaches of the Rules and claims made against the compensation fund of the Malaysian Central Depository.

Shirley was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in July 2005 and was subsequently employed by Messrs. Scully Yoon as a legal assistant. She currently assists in primarily corporate and conveyancing matters in the firm.

Terrence Lee

Terrence Lee joined Messrs Scully.Yoon in June 2014. Terrence started his legal profession in Messrs Trevor George Partnership in 2011 as a Paralegal while studying for the Certificate in Legal Practice.

Upon completing the Certificate in Legal Practice, Terrence had undergone his pupillage in Messrs Wong Kian Kheong and was subsequently retained as a legal assistant. During his tenure in Messrs Wong Kian Kheong, he gained wide experience in various aspects of the law in conveyancing, civil litigation and criminal litigation.

Terrence has acquired further extensive experience in his legal practice under Messrs Scully.Yoon mainly in Civil litigation which includes inter alia debt recovery, bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings and other various modes of execution proceedings, committal proceedings, General Litigation , Banking Litigation, drafting and preparation of Writ of Summons and Statement of Claim for recovery of debts, moneys and properties, breach of contracts and breach of trust matters, Distress Proceedings, Family law, Divorce proceedings which are contested and non-contested, Insolvency matters, Windingup, receivership and liquidation of companies, Probate and administration of estates, wills and trust deeds, Defamation and libel proceedings, Drafting and rendering legal opinions and advice on various legal issues and points of law on diverse matters across a broad spectrum of the law as well as General conveyancing matters.

Chew Beng Han Randy

Randy Chew joined Messrs Scully.Yoon in May 2015. Having a strong interest in litigation practice, Randy commenced his legal career by undergoing his pupillage in a law firm in Kuala Lumpur which allowed him to gain wide experience mainly in the area of general civil litigation. Also, during the period of his pupillage, he had the privilege of being exposed to various kinds of public interest litigation, which amongst others, include Election Petitions and Judicial Reviews.

Upon the completion of his pupillage, Randy had acquired further extensive experience in general civil litigation during his stints in two other law firms in Kuala Lumpur prior to this. His experiences includes, inter alia, contractual and tortious disputes, capital reduction and winding-up proceedings, drafting and preparation of Writ of Summons and Statement of Claim for recovery of debts and breach of contracts, drafting and rendering legal opinions and providing advice on a wide range of legal issues and points of law of which in the process, Randy had gained extensive and invaluable experience in legal research.

In addition to his credentials, Randy had also attended case managements and assisted or conducted hearings in the Magistrates' Court, Sessions Court and High Court during his tenure of practice in the legal profession.

Ummi Shairah Binti Suhaimi

Ummi Shairah joined Messrs Scully.Yoon in June 2015. Prior to that, following her graduation, Ummi Shairah completed 9 months of pupillage under the tutelage of two distinctive Masters of different practice backgrounds with the aim to cultivate herself  in every aspect of both civil litigation and conveyancing matters.

Upon completion of her pupillage, Ummi Shairah had gained vast experience in Conveyancing as she had practised as a conveyancing legal associate handling project management and development, drafting and preparing sale and purchase agreements and other related agreements, as well as handling loan documentations of numerous banks and financial institutions. During her tenure of practice, Ummi Shairah was also entrusted with handling and managing litigation briefs and assisting the partner in litigation matters.

Ummi Shairah is keen in exploring all the various practical aspects of law and she is always looking to further enhance her legal knowledge and hone her skills further in legal practice. Ummi Shairah fervently believes that law is something that is dynamic and constantly evolving which is actually made up of variable substances in order to suit the current progress and development of various diverse communities and the nation as a whole and in light thereof as a legal practitioner, Ummi Shairah endeavours to keep herself fully equipped and consistently abreast with the latest growth and developments in Malaysian law and jurisprudence.
